Antenna Research Associates (ARA), headquartered in Maryland, designs, manufactures, tests, and installs advanced antenna technologies to keep our military and joint forces secure, superior, and safe. Their capabilities span from Electronic Warfare and Military Communications to Radar and Satellite Systems.
The Challenge
For more than 60 years, ARA has provided our military with unparalleled information, improved situational awareness, immediate threat detection, and precision targeting through their cutting-edge antenna products. However, they were about to double their product offering through recent acquisitions of AQYR and SI2, fellow players in the defense engineering and technology space. This necessitated a new website that repositioned them in their industry and visually demonstrated their innovation and passion. They also need a website that could be updated easily to account for continued future growth.
Our Strategy
ARA’s top priority was that users could quickly find the best products for their needs through several paths. Regardless of whether they started their search by Domain, Application, or Product Type. We accomplished this by designing one of our largest navigational menus that flowed logically and provided a simple user experience. Additionally, this required us to work very closely with the ARA team to ensure each of the 110+ products was classified into the correct domain, application, and product type, as well as assigned correct product specifications. We also created a custom Configuration tool for users who don’t know exactly which ARA product they need. By clicking through a series of filters, the Configuration tool returns the best solution options for that user’s specific needs. The website design also featured a dynamic header video and impactful imagery.
The Results
The new website features motion and visual interest, and, most importantly, brought together three separate companies into one, creating a strong identity for ARA in the marketplace.
